CARMIGNANO, THE TUSCAN EXCEPTION
Carmignano, an enclave south of the Chianti Montalbano appellation, is a wine exception in the land of Sangiovese and super Tuscans. This area west of Florence is, like Chianti, one of the oldest in Tuscany. Since 1716 and a decree by Como 3 de' Medici, the winemakers of the Carmignano area have been allowed to produce wines made from a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This authorisation makes Carmignano a special denomination, as it is the only one that can produce wines made from a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon while enjoying DOCG status, acquired in 1990.
Planted on soils composed of clay and limestone, the vines of Le Farnete are here exposed south-southwest, giving them the best possible exposure. This particular terroir, combined with a microclimate, allows us to produce wines of character, elegance and elegance.
