Discover Tenuta Cantagallo: A Gem in Chianti
History and Location of Tenuta Cantagallo
Located about thirty kilometres west of Florence, in the area of Chianti di Montalbano, the Tenuta Cantagallo has been owned by the Pierazzuoli family since 1970. The south facing vineyards and the proximity of the sea offer an ideal environment for the typical Chianti grape, Sangiovese. On an area of 30 hectares, the soil is composed mainly of clay-limestone and tufa.
Commitment to Quality and Organic Practices
Enrico Pierazzuoli attaches great importance to the work in the vineyards. With a density of 6'250 ceps per hectare and a production of 1kg of grapes per plant, he ensures the best quality of grapes for the production of Chianti and Gioveto. On each bottle it notes "a bottiglia di vino per ogni ceppo di vite" (a bottle of wine per vine). In addition, the production of grapes is certified organic since 2018.
A Family Legacy Beyond Wine
Also, the Pierazzuoli family grows 5'000 olive trees and runs an agri-tourism farmhouse to welcome visitors and customers.
