The Ca'Marcanda estate is located not far from Bolgheri. Angelo Gaja acquired this property in 1996 and planted about 120 hectares of vines there. The choice of grape varieties was based on a selection of international plants, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
