Corash, red excellence
An emblematic wine, Corash from Cantina Della Vernaccia is one of Sardinia's finest wines. It is made from Cannonau, a grape variety known as Grenache. Originally from Spain, this grape variety is thought to have been imported to the island when it was colonised by the Kingdom of Spain in the 14th century. Now a DOC, Cannonau, through wines such as Corash, cultivates an image of excellence and contributes to the reputation of Sardinian red wines.
Cantina Della Vernaccia, passionate producers
Founded in the 1950s, Cantina Della Vernaccia is the result of a collaboration between independent vineyard owners and a production team whose common aim is not only to make the most of the local soils and grape varieties, but also to produce quality wines. Located on the Sinis peninsula, the vineyards are planted on soils of sedimentary rock, lime and sandstone; the mild temperatures and sea breezes provide the freshness needed to produce well-balanced, easy-drinking wines.
For lovers of supple, fruity red wines
Corash, named after a small Roman village that has now disappeared, is one of the island's best-loved Cannonau wines. Its garnet-red colour is intense and brilliant. On the nose, there are notes of red berries and a touch of wild herbs. Elegantly structured on the palate, with bright fruit and subtle freshness. This red wine from Sardinia goes perfectly with lamb-based dishes, pasta in sauce or Osso Bucco.
