Masi Renzo, winemaker from Tuscany
Fattoria di Basciano: A Legacy of Quality Winemaking
Historical Roots in the Rufina Region
Owned by the Masi family since the beginning of the 20th century, Fattoria di Basciano is located in the heart of the Rufina region, one of the subdivisions of the Chianti appellation. About 45 minutes east of Florence, the estate is situated on a hill overlooking the Argomenna Valley and the Sive River. The vineyard benefits from a microclimate ideal for ripening grapes and its predominantly stony soil known as "Galestro".
Commitment to Quality Viticulture
For several years now, the estate has been dedicated to achieving much higher quality viticulture both in its vineyards and cellars. This includes planting new vines and maintaining constant oversight with grape suppliers from the region, alongside constructing a new cellar. Today, it is proudly managed by its third generation.
