Castello del Terriccio, winemaker from Tuscany
Discover the Legacy of Castello Del Terriccio
A Rich Historical Background
Located in the Tuscan wine region south of Livorno, the history of Castello Del Terriccio takes us back to the Middle Ages when the castle existed and was called Castello Del Doglia. In the following centuries, the castle was owned by different people. In the early 1900s, the family of the current owners acquired the estate. Then in 1975, everything accelerated when Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelena inherited the estate and brought it to a level that makes it a reference in Tuscany today. Today, his nephew Vittorio Piozzo owns and manages the estate.
Exceptional Vineyard Practices
With a vineyard of 65 hectares, benefiting not only from a microclimate but also from a variety of soils, the estate produces vintages with an excellent reputation. With particular care in both the vineyards and cellars, Castello del Terriccio produces wines such as Lupicaia and Tassinaia whose quality and ageing potential place this estate among the most important in the region.
