As a reminder, while aeration allows young wines to open up (revealing their aromas) and round out (reducing the harshness of their tannins), decanting removes ageing deposits from generally rather mature wines.

The particularity of this decanter: if you are pouring a wine that needs a lot of oxygenation, such as Clos Mogador, you can put the decanter on its side and turn it slowly on itself (c.f. image 2).
