TUSCANY WINE PACK
Discover the wines of Tuscany with this gift pack. This wine-growing region is one of the oldest on the Italian peninsula, with a history of wine-making dating back to the Etruscans, the indigenous people who lived in what is now Tuscany long before the Romans arrived and who were already producing quality wine at that time. The advent of the Roman Empire, followed by that of the Florentine nobility, continued to enhance the quality of the wines and the reputation of this wine-growing region. This wine box features three different producers located in three distinct wine-growing areas in the heart of Tuscany.
Oenological discovery in the heart of wine-growing Tuscany
The first bottle in this gift box is Tenuta Cantagallo's Chianti Riserva. Produced from a blend of several plots, it showcases the Sangiovese grape variety. This variety, whose name means ‘Blood of Jupiter’, is given pride of place in one of Tuscany's oldest appellations: Chianti. The appellation with the black rooster stretches from Florence in the north to Siena in the south. Tenuta Cantagallo is located to the west of Florence, and cultivates with excellence this grape variety typical of the region. In this vintage, the Sangiovese reveals notes of aromatic herbs, vanilla and wild berries. The attack is frank on the palate with assertive tannins, the spicy notes are revealed a little more with a hint of herbs. The finish is fresh with present tannins.
The second wine featured in this pack is Terre Rosse. This wine is produced by the Corte dei Venti estate in the Toscana IGT appellation. This small, family-run winery of just a few hectares is located in the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. With ‘Le Terre Rosse’, producer Clara Monaci aims to showcase the quality and richness of her wine-growing terroir in a wine that is accessible to all. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine develops notes of fresh red fruit, cloves and dark chocolate. The wine is round from the outset, with fresh fruit. The tannins are present, with a lovely fresh structure.
Crognolo from the Sette Ponti estate is the third Tuscan wine in this Tuscany discovery pack. Located in the east of Tuscany, Tenuta Sette Ponti lies at the foot of the Apennine mountains, and this Crognolo features the region's king grape variety, Sangiovese, combined here with Merlot. The result is a racy, elegant wine. On the nose, notes of vanilla and tobacco leaves. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, with full-bodied tannins and a lingering finish.
