This wine pack lets you discover three different vintages, all produced in Catalonia, in the Priorat and Montsant wine-growing regions. These very old wine-producing regions fell into disuse at the end of the 19th century, but from the 1970s-1980s they underwent a revival thanks to a handful of passionate winemakers, and are now among the most sought-after wine-producing regions in Spain.
This gift box will allow you to taste 3 different styles of red wine, all made from a blend of several grape varieties and produced by two emblematic figures of the Priorat & Montsant wine region. René Barbier Junior, son of the famous winemaker René Barbier, who founded the legendary Clos Mogador; and Meritxell Palleja, an accomplished young winemaker who has worked with Alvaro Palacios, another great Priorat figure.

Wine discovery between Priorat and Montsant

Nita, the first wine in this discovery pack of Spanish red wines, is produced by Meritxell Palleja. It is a blend of indigenous Grenache and Carignan grapes and international Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah varieties. Vinified and matured exclusively in vats, this wine brings out the best in the Priorat terroir. It has a nose of fresh red fruit and violets. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced with fine, delicate tannins. The finish is fruity and delicious.

Dido is produced by René Barbier Junior with the help of his wife Sara Pérez, daughter of José Lluis Perez, another key Priorat figure like René Barbier. Made from predominantly limestone soils, Dido is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; a red wine of finesse and elegance. Aged in both clay and concrete vats, Dido is a fruity Spanish red wine with notes of aromatic herbs and a touch of minerality. It has fine tannins on the palate and a lingering finish with a hint of spice.

Buxus is the final bottle in this gift box showcasing wines from the Priorat & Montsant wine region. From a plot in the heart of the Priorat, Meritxell's Buxus honours the region's two flagship grape varieties: Grenache and Carignan. On the nose, notes of cocoa, balsamic and plum. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied from the outset, with assertive, well-coated tannins. The finish is dense and long, with spicy notes.
