Pellegrino, winemaker from Sicily
Pellegrino: A Legacy of Sicilian Winemaking
A Family Tradition Since 1880
Since 1880, the Pellegrino family has always personally managed the activities in the vineyard and in the cellar. Even today, the seventh generation, Pietro, Paola, Sebastiano, Benedetto, Maria Chiara, Massimo and Caterina still participate daily in the management of the company. A long family history of respect, care, love and dedication—values handed down from father to son—make it one of the greatest Sicilian wine families.
The Ideal Terroir for Quality Wines
The vineyards of Pellegrino are located in the westernmost part of Sicily, characterised by a wide variety of microclimates. The region has the largest area planted with vines in Italy and is considered most suitable on the island. Here, intense light combined with a dry climate and cool soils creates ideal conditions for producing quality wines.
Commitment to Organic Practices
Pellegrino is committed to preserving their territory by growing grapes exclusively using organic methods that respect environmental integrity. Their green initiatives extend across all production areas—from lighting to logistics—and include waste management practices as well as careful control over water resources and pollution reduction.
